Jean Joire, born Jean Victor François Joseph Joire, September 5, 1862 in Lille, and died September 8, 1950 in the same city, is a French sculptor. Coming from a family of bankers from Lille, student at the Academic Schools of Lille between 1875 and 1880, Jean Joire regularly participates in the Salon of French artists from 1891. He presents mainly animal works, especially shepherds dogs or horses. One of the main works of this artist is a life-size equestrian statue which was inaugurated in 1913 in the woods of the citadel of Lille.
